Artist's Comments

"Before every moral decision we make, there is a battle for our very souls, between the forces of good and evil."

I'm a big fan of classical paintings and I thought this would be a wonderful opportunity to execute such. This deviation is heavily influenced by paintings of one of my favorites, Mr. Adolphe-William Bouguereau (1825-1905). All elements are symbolic in nature. :D

Fully painted on Photoshop using a Wacom Intuos

Also many thanks to Stefkes of DA [link] for his photograph that I used for reference :)>

Very nicely done. You captured the idealized version of the model from the reference image very nicely. The colors and contrasts stand out well, and the details are remarkable. Specifically, the focus and lighting in the eyes, the flight of the bird, and the textures of the snake all caught my attention. The difference in the brush strokes between the man's arm and the snake's scales shows quite an impressive variety of technique...which I think blend effectively here.

I think this is quite impressive. Nicely done.

I mean, I'm an atheist and I would still love to have this hanging on my wall. It's just so beautiful. It's within the finest art of today, for me.
